Environmental conservation at home: a constructive step for society and nature

People have now become really cautious about the environment. Also the production of energy and renewable sources has become limited in the environment. Environmental conservation at home is the best way of being loyal to the nature and society. We can compost at home and organize a process of recycling the nutrients that are present in soil.

Composting

It is a simple and natural process through which all the nutrients present in soil can be recycled and used repeatedly. We must have found variety of earthy smelly mixture consisting of decayed organic matter beside our home. The system of compost would utilize the ingredients which are waste to us but is effective in generating a source of energy. All the waste products which are thrown out from household can now be utilized by mankind.

Making of compost pile

The materials which we would need to make a compost pile are small mesh wires, a good amount of rough boards etc. The size of the board would depend on the shape of the bin which we would choose. This can be done in a square structure, rectangular structure or a round structure. The process would start with the spread of plant waste up to 6-8 inches deep till the bottom of the bin. Now we must moisture the layer and add the compostable materials such as carbon, greens, etc. It would be best to use the wastes of fruit and vegetables. After completing the first layer, we must concentrate on second layer which would include ground soil and decay organisms. We must repeat the steps and pile waste loosely in the bin.
